NSSE released the third of five data-informed stories in Engagement Insights—Survey Findings on the Quality of Undergraduate Education, an annual series detailing important and timely NSSE findings. This installment, High-Impact Practices: Interrogating Quality and Equity, examines rates of participation in six potent learning experiences—learning communities, service-learning, research with faculty, study abroad, internships, and senior capstones—and includes an exploration of the quality of HIPs from an equity lens. These findings are complemented by results from the faculty survey, a public Tableau dashboard, and examples from colleges and universities demonstrating their continued assessment and improvement of HIPs.
