New for BCSSE 2024 is the New Student Check-In, a short survey to immediately gauge the well-being of entering students.
The cost of BCSSE participation includes a fixed registration fee and an administration fee determined by number of entering students included in the administration, administration mode (paper, Web, or mixed), and winter administration participation.

Winter Administration (optional)
The cost to survey students who are entering as new students after the holiday break is $815. The survey is available early December to late January only to institutions that participated in the previous Summer/Fall Administration to Entering Students.
BCSSE targets three distinct groups of entering students: First-year students who are recent high school graduates, transfer students, and older students who have little or no prior experience in higher education.
You will receive registration instructions by email once your request has been approved.
BCSSE has helped us gain a nuanced understanding of the needs and expectations of our incoming students. We have used the data to enhance our advising, peer mentoring, and persistence efforts for first-years, and to identify the students who might benefit from different kinds of outreach.
