• Guide and coach about NSSE data and student engagement results or approaches to data use
• Empower participating colleges and universities to use their data for institutional improvement and student success initiatives
• Contribute our student engagement, assessment and data use expertise by participating in and presenting at organizational meetings and work sessions

• Collaborate with systems, consortia, organizations, and intermediaries to coordinate NSSE survey administration and opportunities for capacity building and data use
• Develop and deliver customized data workshops and webinars (in-person or virtual)
• Present customized sessions at conferences, events, and meetings (in-person or virtual) on topics based on NSSE’s national report topics, survey results, and findings about data use, assessment and student success, among others
• Convene stakeholders for workshops and institutes to explore projects of mutual interest
• Craft customized data use resources, toolkits and playbooks to advance action

• Collaborate with systems, consortia, organizations, and intermediaries on student engagement assessment and research initiatives
• Produce reports using NSSE data to serve organizational or institutional interests
• Conduct focus groups and student interviews to deepen and contextualize information about students’ experiences
• Conduct research and development consistent with NSSE’s mission on special projects such as, documenting effective educational practice; advancing career and workforce preparation; assessing quality and equity in high-impact practices; building engagement for marginalized students, among others
• Collect and disseminate research on promising practices in student engagement, data use and assessment

Organizations seeking to advance student engagement data collection and use evidence to inform action can coordinate NSSE’s suite of survey tools (core survey, Topical Modules, Custom Modules, FSSE, BCSSE, Pulse options) and work with NSSE to deliver data use and action plan workshops.

Coordination of topical learning communities employing a model to foster data exploration and use to identify priorities and strategies on the topic and to take action on results.

Data workshops are tailored for single institutions, systems, regions, or other organizations to address areas of interests such as introducing institutional NSSE data, communicating survey results to internal and external groups, understanding and using results for improvement, applying results to examine issues of retention, persistence and graduation and equitable learning outcomes, etc.

Institutes are focused on applying student engagement data and NSSE’s research findings to advance action on a particular topic. For example, state system institutions could convene to use their NSSE data to inform graduation initiatives, or liberal arts institutions may collaborate to examine their student engagement and NSSE findings associated with relationship-rich education to enhance educational quality and mission fulfillment.
