Institutions participating in FSSE have provided examples demonstrating uses of FSSE’s diagnostic, actionable information on instructional staff perspectives to catalyze vital, sometimes challenging conversations on campus about the quality of undergraduate education. Examples of this use can be found in our Lessons from the Field series as well as our searchable database of institutional examples. This page focuses on one theme among these examples.
How Institutions Use FSSE Data
Enhancing Academic Advising
Academic advising offers opportunities for students to directly engage with instructional staff and to discuss important matters relating to degree completion, academic interests, and factors influencing retention and success. FSSE data guides the enhancement of academic advising as an area of strength through questions in FSSE’s core survey as well as in the Academic Advising Topical Module.
