The Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE) measures faculty and instructor expectations for undergraduate student engagement in educational practices that are empirically linked with learning and development. FSSE complements the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), which is administered to undergraduate students. Although most participating institutions use FSSE and NSSE concurrently, FSSE can be administered on its own. FSSE targets faculty members and other instructional staff who teach at least one undergraduate course in the current academic year. For FSSE’s purposes, “faculty” refers to all those who teach undergraduate courses.
