Drive campuswide interest in survey results!

NSSE, FSSE, and BCSSE are interconnected survey concepts where both the items and results relate to each other to capture associations between student and faculty experiences. Tightening connections between NSSE, FSSE, and BCSSE results and the interests of campus departments and units is a proven strategy for broadening and strengthening investment in student engagement, instructional staff contributions to student engagement, and increase data use. Specific project reports and results are likely relevant for different campus departments, units, and committees.

To stimulate thinking and discussion about the meaning of NSSE, FSSE, and BCSSE results for particular departments, units, and committees, we mapped each projects’ items to a campuswide range of different interest groups.

For NSSE, NSSE’s Engagement Indicators, High-Impact Practices, and Topical Modules are also mapped to various departments, units, and committees and these are reflected in the interactive Tableau dashboard linked below.

Which Campus Departments, Units, Offices, and Committees Map to NSSE, FSSE, and BCSSE Items?

This mapping is not intended as a strict formula for relating results but, rather, as encouragement to think more broadly about where evidence might be useful. Our mapping employed common department and program categories and designations, which users should review to determine what matches the context of their institution’s organization and committee structure. We included the following:
